Of course, for many people, I don't need to give a
long list of attractions, since you are just going
to bum around on the beach.  Have at it!  Enjoy!

For those of you who like to plan an itinerary,
here are some ideas:

Damon Point State Park
This beach lies within a short walk from the
condos.

The North Jetty
Fantastic beach and awesome ocean waves at
the bottom of Ocean Shores.

Duck Lake and the Grand Canal
The Ocean Shores peninsula is interlaced with
canals and lakes. A tour of Duck Lake and the
Grand Canal on an electric party boat is the
highlight of any visit to Ocean Shores.

Sandpiper Trail
Just outside of Ocean Shores is found the Grays
Harbor National Wildlife Refuge, where millions
of shorebirds stop by on their migration between
Alaska and Mexico.

Quinault Beach Casino
Near the Ocean Shores entrance is found this
popular casino right on the beach.

Indoor Waterpark at the Grays Harbor YMCA
Located in nearby Hoquiam is this fabulous
facility with an indoor waterpark (wave pool,
waterslide, Olympic pool, jet-propelled river, and
more water features), racquetball, basketball,
and excercise room.  A family day pass costs just
$15.

Razor Clam Digging
These huge, meaty clams can be dug on days
designated by the Department of Fish and
Wildlife. License required.

Ocean City State Park
Another place to access the wonderful ocean
beaches.

Copalis Beach
The nearest seastack rock is located here to the
north of Ocean Shores.

If you have planned a visit longer than a
weekend (and I highly recommend that), there
are two outstanding attractions of Grays Harbor
County (or of the state or of the world!) that you
should explore:

Lake Quinault
Beautiful glacial lake with Olympic Mountain
backdrop, historic lodge, excellent restaurant,
3/4 mile rain forest loop trail and many further
trails, world record holding trees, boat rentals,
and a picnic spot on the north shore to die for:
July Creek.

Point Grenville and the Quinault Indian Nation
Beaches
Little visited by outsiders, the Quinault tribe is
lucky to possess some of the finest beaches on
the whole Pacific Northwest coast.  Point
Grenville has lots of rocks for your kids to climb,
massive sea stack rocks offshore, and an
amazing hidden volcanic beach over a low rock
wall at the point.  Arrive at low tide to see the
hundreds of fat purples and orange starfish.

The beach at Taholah features the red rocks of
Cape Elizabeth, the mouth of the Quinault River
contending against the ocean waves, and some
of the largest beach logs you'll see anywhere.
Hike south from Taholah past the rapidly eroding
cliffs to the end of the beach where the waves
pound directly on the cliffs with the rocks of
Point Grenville in the distance - an amazing sight.

A tribal beach pass is required - $15 per family
per day.  Go to the police station at the end of
Cuitan Street in Taholah.
