GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY OCEAN
BEACHES
Fifty miles of sandy ocean beaches
await you in Grays Harbor County.
Popular activities include sand castle
building, kite flying, razor clam digging,
driving your care on the beach, bike
riding on the beach, and evening
bonfires.
LAKE QUINAULT
Of all the beautiful lakes around the
Olympic peninsula, Lake Quinault is my
favorite. It has a loop road tour that lets
you enjoy the lake's natural beauty from
every angle, and along the way you
pass a variety of wonderous sights.
KALALOCH AND RUBY BEACHES
Spectacular Ruby Beach sports a
collection of rocks and offshore
islands. The beach is littered with
bright red cedar logs washed down the
creek. A beautiful windswept forest
climbs the hills behind the beach.
HOH RAIN FOREST
The famous moss-draped rain forest in
the beautiful Hoh River valley. Giant
spruce trees grow over 200 feet tall
here. You can find these trees down on
the beaches, washed up by the surf.
KIDS LOVE GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY!
Besides the sand, we have lots of
things to interest kids: the indoor
waterpark in Hoquiam, touring Duck
Lake and the Ocean Shores canals in
an electric boat, touching the big
purple and orange starfish on Copalis
Rock and low tide, seeing the
hatchlings and hearing the bear stories
at the Quinault National Fish Hatchery,
walking inside the thousand year old
Quinault Big Cedar, throwing sticks in
the rapidly flowing Quinault River from
one of its southern sand banks, and
clambering onto the big rocks of the
North Jetty to watch the big ocean
waves roll in.
WILDLIFE IN GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY!
We've encountered lots of wildlife in
the past year and a half in Grays Harbor
County: seals, eagles, deer, shorebirds,
blue heron, pelicans, Roosevelt elk,
and the neighbors have told me about
more.
