| SEATTLE AQUARIUM The Seattle Aquarium contains many diverse types of fish from all around the world. It is home to many Northwest native animals such as seals, sea lions, and otters. Our favorite exhibits include the underwater viewing dome, where you can watch divers feed the sharks and rays; the touch tanks with vigorous tidal action, where you can touch the anemones, shrimp, and sea slugs; the glass ring you can walk through as dozens of jellyfish circulate around you; and the octopus tank, occupied by the largest example of its kind in the world out of the frigid waters of Puget Sound. The aquarium building is set on a magnificent location atop a pier jutting out into the bay with views all around of the Seattle skyline, the Olympic Mountains, and the Washington State ferries crossing Puget Sound. Nearby is the waterfront park and fountain, restaurants and shopping, and the hill climb to the famous Pike Place Market.
