Our goal is to help Pacific Northwest vacation rental owners become more
effective in marketing their properties online with a website. Effective
vacation rental websites should be rich in content, full of photos, highly
tuned to search engines, updated frequently, and promoted on
Craigslist.org and by other free means.
We offer three levels of service:
FREE
We are free with advice. Point us at your current website and we will
evaluate it and suggest improvements. If you join the Yahoo
vacation_rentals group for owners, you'll find much of our advice already
written up.
ASSIST
In exchange for a free two-night visit to your property, we will leave you
with a couple hundred high-quality photos of your house and area and
assist you with writing Craigslist ads and text for your website.
COMPLETE
In exchange for a free two-night visit to your property and 12% of rental
income we generate, the complete program works as follows:
1. We will take high quality photos of your property. The main tricks for
taking good photos are: using a wide angle lens to bring an entire room
into the shot, wait for good outdoor light, turn on all the interior lights, and
stand on a chair in the corner of the room, which gives a pleasing
perspective to the room. The photos would be used in our promotional
efforts and would also be available to you free of charge. We typically
come away with 200 good photos of a rental house and its surroundings.
2. We will put up a new website - separate from your own current website, if
any - where we would promote your property based on the new photos and
our writing about our visit to the area. The website will be rich in content
and highly tuned to search engines. We would pay the web hosting cost
and defray these with Google ad revenue that we keep.
3. We will promote the new website by free means: frequent ads on
Craigslist.org, listing on free vacation rental websites (only if you aren't
listed already), and search engine optimization.
4. We will qualify leads coming from this new website in terms of
appropriate group size, pet policy, and available dates. We would then turn
the lead over to you to close the transaction.
5. Considerable control will be left to you: a.) if you didn't like something we
wrote on the website, we'd change it, b.) if you found us listed on a website
where you wanted to list, we'd remove our entry, c.) you are permitted free,
unlimited use of the new photos, d.) if you wanted to take over the new
website, we'd sell it to you for $500, e.) or alternately if you wanted to end
our relationship, we could simply shut down the new website at no cost.
We're willing to discuss variations on the program and listen to creative
ideas that you may have.
